Ask

Ask! What a novel thought, or should it be a principle? God said ask. He said that everyone who asks would receive. This is found Matthew chapter 7. The complete wording is “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will opened”. ( Matthew 7:7&8) In recent months I have made a real attempt not to volunteer help before it is asked for. It is wisdom to hear the whole of a matter, and not to get hasting in comments. Many people today want to vent their hardships without others trying to solve their issues. It is important, I believe, to have someone whom we trust and share life experiences with. Caution needs to be taken not to make others our only sounding board, but repent of wrongs to God and others, and rethink God and life from the Spiritual side, with the true God in mind. Many have discovered the hard way that if they need legal help to ask a lawyer, and if they need medical help to ask a doctor. The problem is we wait until we are in desperate times to ask. God is not afraid of our questions and considers all our requests. He however does not continue in giving to foolish ends. He is considerate of everyone’s requests and is true and just to work all things out for good to those that love Him and are called according to His purposes. It is written “For it is God who works in us both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Ask and keep on asking, but listen for wise counsel, and learn from mistakes. Ask!
